After reading chapter five most of the class immediately had a thought of a time when something funny happened in a setting that was supposed to be serious (School, Church, Acto Civico or any number of other ones). So I ask you to use your blogs as a forum to share your funniest story with a similar theme.

We have read the first couple of chapters of Book Thief and there has been a lot of information thrown at you. So the task I ask of you is to predict what you think will happen to Liesel. This can go in any direction, try to be thorough with your answer and make sure it seems logical and fits with the story.

8E please choose one of these questions to answer in your blog. Remember that you must post and comment on another blog this time.
Recently in the reading we have seen that Anita has had to spend a large amount of time living in a closet. What effects do you think living in a closet have had on Anita. What effects would they have on you? Why do you think you would have these effects? Would there be other effects that maybe unforeseen? Can you think of any other examples in history or other stories that have a similar thing happen?

We discussed in the last post the idea of taking risks to change your country for the better and many of you had different opinions about what should be done. We have now seen that the Mancini's are taking a risk by keeping Anita and her mother in the closet. If anyone were to find out they could be in grave danger. Do you think they are taking the right steps to protect their friends even if it puts their family in danger? Is your opinion different from the last one? Why or why not? Explain.

As you are reading Tom Sawyer you have gotten a chance to get to know Tom and his behavior.  Knowing what you do about him, would you be his friend if you knew him?  Explain why you would or would not.  You blog must be updated by Thursday Aug. 28th.

1st writing assignment for your blog (8E)

As you have been reading Before we were Free, I would like you to respond to the following question.  Tio Toni and Papi are involved with trying to take down the government.  Their behavior is putting their whole family at risk as can be seen by the constant problems that the family is having.  Are they justified in putting their family in danger in order to try to change their country for the better?  Explain and support your answer.  You should have an answer posted on your blog by thurs. the 28th.

This Blog is designed for you to discuss class projects and post questions for each other. In addition to that I will periodically place questions or assignments on the blog that you must answer on your own blogs. This activity will continue through the school year and get more and more complex and in depth as we continue. By the end you will be able to look back at all the posts and comments that you made.
