1st writing assignment for your blog (8E)
As you have been reading Before we were Free, I would like you to respond to the following question. Tio Toni and Papi are involved with trying to take down the government. Their behavior is putting their whole family at risk as can be seen by the constant problems that the family is having. Are they justified in putting their family in danger in order to try to change their country for the better? Explain and support your answer. You should have an answer posted on your blog by thurs. the 28th.

have u considered that mayb the right thing to do is send ur family over to another place, say... US??? while u (by u i mean the dad) fights for their country? and mayb change ur name so that whoever ur fighting against doesn't find ur family?? but of course, if u die then ur family is gonna be sad, but at least they r gonna be alive. and mayb they take trujillo out, and all his family, and what if then someone comes but he doesn't know how to run the country? all the stuff you fought for and all for nothing??? i bet u hadn't thought 'bout this, right?

True. I would've, I accept it. But my point is still standing: Papi is an intelligent man. If he COULD, he would have sent all of his family before anything happened. But if they sent all of them at once, it would seem very suspicious to the dictator who is dictating and not letting most people leave, right? And seeing about...15 people leave all at once would cause some questions. Changing your name will NOT work; it's not as easy as saying "Hey, Trujillo, I wanna change my name to...Bob. Thanks." They'd still have your identity, and once they report you and your noticeable family to the US president, you'll get deported and then you'll get tortured in a way much more violent than if you hadn't left anyways. My point is: You can't just say that they can change their name and leave. You have to use evidence, lots of it, to support your opinion. Because if you don't it'll be much easier for someone to ride over it, and you don't want that to happen, do you?
For the sake of this blog's simplicity, if you still wanna argue, either do it in your blog or in my blog Marco :P
